You should never see the screen below for more than a few seconds.
If this screen shows up for 30 seconds or more, there are a few simple steps you can take.
- Did you complete our system test? If not, start the system test on the main course selection page. This will automatically scan your computer to make sure you meet our (very low) system requirements.
- What Internet browser are you using? The system is designed to run well on any modern browser, but sometimes they don’t want to play nice.
First, make sure you have that latest version of IE, chrome or Firefox installed.
If you’re on IE or chrome and still having an issue with buffering, it’s time to try Firefox. You can download Firefox (for free) right here. After you’ve installed Firefox, log back into your profile on training.minesafetycenter.com and launch the course. That usually fixes any buffering issues.
You can change your password by clicking on “My Profile” in the menu:
Type your new password in the “password” field and re-type the same password in the “Confirm Password” field.
Did you change your password from the initial email you received? If not search your email for “minesafetycenter.com”. You should be able to find all of your login information right away.
If that doesn’t work, you can reset your password. To do this go to training.minesafetycenter.com.
Then, click on the “Forgot Password” button shown below:
You will see this screen:
Just type in the email you used to sign up. Your reset password will be sent to your inbox. It shouldn’t take longer than 5 minutes or so to receive an email containing your login name and password.

All login names and passwords are case-sensitive. This is the most common reason a login won’t work. If your login has a capital letter:
but you try to log in without the capital letter:
your login won’t work.
The easiest way to check this it to go back to the email where you received your login information. Make sure you’re entering your information with the proper cases.

If you got a receipt for your purchase – check your email’s spam folder. Sometimes (And if our email does end up in your spam folder you can make sure this never happens again by “whitelisting” emails from MSC. Learn how to do that right here.
If you didn’t receive a receipt, double-check the email address you entered. Is there a typo in the email you entered? If so, reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Is your profile complete? MSHA regulations require your name to appear exactly as it does on your certificate. That means your full middle name and any suffixes (Jr., Sr., etc.). If you’re missing the middle name, the name won’t appear.
What if I don’t have a middle name?
- Put your cursor in the middle name field.
- Press the space bar twice.
- Hit the “save” button.
Your name will appear now.
This is the same situation as a blank name. The certificate needs all fields complete for our system to fill out your certificate.
